Hello everyone, I'm new here. I don't own a SHO, but I do have an MKS ECOBOOST. My car is completely stock. Looking to modify it this year. Was curious if I could use the 3 bar map off of a different 3.5L ECOBOOST, in place of the 2 bar on the manifold? Also I'm looking for a CAI, and catless down pipes. Thanks for any info, have a great day!

Same platform. Welcome aboard.
You can use a 3 bar but you will need a tune for it to run correctly. Poke around the GenIV section and alot of these mods are in recent discussions. That's the section for the ecoboost hangout. You can get plenty of info looking around at current posts and more responses posting in that section.

Thanks. I know I'll need a tune. If not it will basically be in limp mode. I'm trying to gather all the parts, to do everything at once. Waiting on my GH intercooler. I'll definitely check out the other sections. Thanks for the info!

It may not even run in limp mode. It looks like you already have info on what to do and where to get things. Change your PTU fluid and hang out!

Every 30k!! I'm mostly looking for parts. $800 for the intercooler, and $600 for the LMS tuner. Trying to save as much money as possible on the other parts.

I personally would stay away from LMS.....

I do not recall any complaints or problems with LMS on the 2010 to 2012 models.

There were complaints about hard shifting in the 2013 and up models with one of their later tunes.

One downside of LMS is their software system is proprietary, and is not compatible with any other system, so with it, you can't try a Gearhead or AJTurbo or Unleashed, or anything else to try them out.

They used to be the "no datalog" company that was plug and play, you simply installed the tune and that was it. No need to email results back and forth while your tune was being perfected. So it was seen as simpler for a beginner.
That may not be completely true now. Other companies have the plug and play format as well now, and for all I know, LMS may datalog to perfect some of their tunes now.

You are close enough, that you could have their facility install and test your tune, and that may appeal to you, if you see yourself as a one-tune, kind of guy.

Just do your research on this forum and decide how you want to do it.

Thanks for all the advice and information. I'm going to check out the different tuners. And I have been talking to Owen at ECOBOOST performance parts. I just can't afford that set. I'm trying to find some used CAI, and catless down pipes. You can check out my stock MKS running different cars, on my YouTube channel. MKS ECOBOOST. Over 4600 lbs with me in it.
