I just took delivery of a used 2010 SHO with performance package and the stereo / backup camera / massaging seats upgrade. Having had a first generation SHO, I am definitely impressed with the innovative gadgetry and build quality on these new ones. I can't stop looking at the car, with the nice 20 inch wheels and black paint. I haven't tried pushing the performance much yet, while I get used to the car and what it can do. I'm still learning all the controls and features.
My question is, does anyone have a handle on how many 2010 SHO's were produced? I don't expect there to be high exclusivity with this model since it is quite affordable, but I was just wondering how many had been manufactured.
What recommendations can members give for cleaning products, such as exterior wax that works well for the black paint, and what to use to clean the suede.
Thanks for all responses.

I am sure many answers await you here. I will just pipe in on this, I have the dark green one so wax is also an issue. I think my favorite so far is mother's "step 3" you can get it on amazon cheap and it really shines well. But it is a real wax so there's at least some effort involved and you have to watch where you put it.
Edit: here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Mothers-05750...1TX0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1304229200&sr=8-4

For lazier times I have turtle ice synthetic you can goop it anywhere and it shines nice. However it seems to make the car a "dust magnet" or similar, pollen really sticks to the car afterwards no matter how well it is wiped off.

And for TRULY lazy times I have some leftover armor all wax-it-dry gel that is 100% simple to use and works pretty well I think. However I find on a dark car it can leave a kind of dull/smeary look if you overdo it. This stuff isn't widely available anymore anyway but I do have a similar Eagle One product that I have not tried yet.

So there's three options get the mothers if you want the nicest look or one of the others if you are short on time but still want results.

Hearty Welcome Tim:

As seen in the sig, I have a Black 2010 also.

I had a Gen 3 for a couple of years and this car is far and away a better vehicle at least in my opinion.

And I would say 1 of 2594 would qualify as pretty rare.

Hope you enjoy your new ride as much as most of us do here.

Welcome Tim. Think you will enjoy the ride. Fun to run and great on long I-state rides.

Welcome to the forum. Once get to know the car, you'll want to check out Livernois Motorsports for their custom tunes. A lot of us have them, and it is an amazing performance upgrade for this car.

As far as polishes and waxes, I recommend Adam's Polishes. Nothing has beat the shine. Their stuff is easy to apply and easy to remove and makes an amazing shine. Of course the finished product is in the prep. Wash, clay bar, paint cleaner, polish, glaze, and finally wax. It does take some time, but the end result is fantastic.

Welcome to the forum!

I've had several black cars and, once I get the paint clean and swirl free, my favorite product is Collinite 845. It is easy to apply, easy to buff off, doesn't make a mess if it lands on plastic trim, and lasts longer than anything else I've used (and I've use a lot of products!). For under the hood, door panels, dashboard, and interior plastics I like 303 Aerospace Protectant.

+1 for Adams. Nothing mentioned can beat an adams shined car. Easy to use stuff too.

I agree, 303 Protectant is the best stuff I've found for vinyl. BTW, also forgot to mention that Adam of Adam's Polishes is a great hard working guy. His stuff works great and it's nice to support someone as nice as Adam.

Appreciation

Thanks to all of you for the responses. I'm assuming I can google the various products to find them on-line....if not, please let me know. I will definitely give the products a try.
As far as the Livernois tune, I have seen it mentioned many times in the forum. I am totally stupid and without good mechanical skills, but is the "Livernois" something that changes the programming of the car, like a software application, or is it an actual piece of hardware to be installed? Like I said, I am very stupid.
BTW, I believe the forum avenues are an incredible way to communicate, and I'm glad to have found this one. I also can't believe there were so few SHO's produced in 2010, especially after knowing now how well they drive and all the amazing features they have.
It will likely take me time to include some pictures. As of this time, it is completely stock with the upgraded wheels.

The Livernois tunes are software. You need a tune (that you can purchase from Livernois) and you send them your strategy code and within a few hours they send you the tunes. From there you download the tunes into the tuner and then plug into the computer port in the car. You then download the stock tune into the tuner and install the Livernois tune of your choice into the car. Takes about 20 minutes to load the stock tune into the tune and load the Livernois tune into the car. Pretty simple, if I can do it, anybody can do it.

Cheers,
