I am not done yet but I wanted to get some opinions before I go any further as regards to color. OPen to all suggestions, as long as they reference color.

thumbup thumbup Very nice! I love the annodized look of it! Im not sure, but I think another color besides the yellow intake runners are now needed! On a side note, Carter, is this the motor that burned down one of the pistons due to the clogged injector?

Not really, just the heads, which aren't painted. The block is the one I picked up in Spencer, MA. which is why I was up that way. You northern engines get salt corrosion on the block and since I enter my car in SHOw's around here it just wouldn't look good enough for a trophy with the splotchy aluminum.

I'm new to the G3 pages, so I don't know you all, but is that the new color or the old one? If it's the new, it rocks! If it's the old, it still rocks! To quote Steve Irwin.....

"Look at that bloke, isn't he gorgeous, that's a naughty boy, he is. Crikey....."

The black and yellow color combo can't be beat, IMO. It's like PB & J. beer

Well, the original was kind of a pewter color but I had the top end of my motor painted in the Bright Yellow you still see on the covers.

Whatever works for you man is okay! I personally don't care for the bumble-bee yellow, but hey, it stands out among us common pewter's. My SHO is also black like yours, so I would like to add some engine treatments in the matching "Ebony Satin" Can you give me some tips?

I discovered that this paint is very close to clear with just one or two coats, when I coated my black FTSB it added a pearl type metal flake. I would experiment a little more before I would make a serious effort to duplicate the ES exterior though. The metal cast paint is kind of a pain to use since it requires several very light coats between 10 minute intervals to get the desired depth and eveness. It also stays "soft" for a very long time and I am not confident on it's durability as of yet.

WOW!!! Killer color. I'm thinking purple for the intake runners. Matches the exterior color and the block color. Just my humble opinion.

The new color looks good. The only part of it you will really see is the cover over the front exhaust. The rest will be buried so the metallic helps bring it out a bit. boink

I have been spraying the Metalcast over the Bright yellow of the covers (cam and cable) as well as the intake runners. Give it a pearl kind of effect. Should be interesting to see what it looks like all tucked away.
