***Vids Below***

Figured I'd start a thread for this...getting it worked on tomorrow. My plan is to replace the 3rd cat with a X pipe, get rid of the resonator/mid muffler (whatever it is) and get the straightest design with some slight mandrel bends to some performance mufflers at the end like stock. Probably put in some 4'+ dual walled tips. Once we get it up on the lift I might actually just go all out and do a turbo back exhaust but we'll see what we're dealing with. I've yet to see anyone post up a turbo back exhaust yet.

One big question is I notice everyone's doing 2.5 inch piping...is it to much to go 3'? Will it **** performance or improve it at all?

Also what is the exact purpose with installing a X pipe in place of the 3rd cat? Can't you just get rid of the third cat and then do straigh pipes without the X? Maybe a dumb question put figured I'd ask.

Anyways I'm going in tomorrow morning. I'll be sure to take pics and get a video for some sound clips. :)

Ah well then we'll be keeping that. I guess I'll go 2.5' piping like everyone else. I'll be sure to post pics and a nice sound clip once it's done. :)

Videos!!!!

Alright got the exhaust done today. It sounds downright mean and badass! It's of course 2.5', deleted 3rd cat with X Pipe, no mid muffler and also.....NO rear mufflers. ;) Surprisingly when we put the rear mufflers on it was rather tame! Could barely hear the turbos...so we slid them off quick and wow what a difference (dynomax mufflers btw). I opted to just do straight pipes. Also this is all MANDREL bent...no crush bends. :) Anyways here are the results:

First vid is at night...but what does it really matter, you can hear the thing. lol

Overall the exhaust is exactly what we wanted. Surprisingly there is zero drone on the highway...it's almost silent!!! If you keep of the gas it's tame, get on the gas and as you can hear it sounds mean as ****. I have zero complaints...can't believe it turned out this good. I was dreading the drone would be deafening...and I'm shocked it's almost as silent as stock on the highway. I can take a vid in the cabin if you don't believe me! lol

Glad you like it. At least those CAMARO guys will know you have an engine in there!

No more Stealth....

Mine is equally quiet on the HWY until it lugs up a long hill!

Well that sounds good but who knows about better, thats objective. But that sounds great though. I personally think the turbo'd version sounds a bit meaner. :) And in reality it's much much faster lol
I'm just kind of offended by the turbo tractor post...if you don't have something good to say...stay the **** out of the thread with your jealousy or negative opinions. It sounds as good or better than a NA SHO or any V6. IMO it sounds extremely mean and the turbos add a even meaner sound.

Whats a awesome bonus of this setup is at idle it's very very quiet, like stock but a very slight rumble...it seems so far in all conditions the only time it gets loud is if you get on the gas...the way it should be.

But I made this thread for fellow Gen 4 owners to help them in their selection of exhausts, not for a crap shoot of crap talking. :thankyou:

Completely putting words in my mouth. I like the sound. It sounds good and I wish mine sounded that way. My car sounds like a beehive inside a elaphants butt hole. I was just stating that I know a lot of other v6's that sound damn good.

I didn't mean anything towards you and thanks for the comment! My comment was more out of being offended by the negative post is all. No worries. :) And again the one in the vid did sound nice.

And Steve, thanks to you posting your clips! Made me go this route and I'm dang glad I did! Couldn't be happier. Got the exact sound I wanted and spent about the same as the exhausts available for our cars...but didn't have the sound I was looking for. :)

I didn't mean any thing by the turbo tractor comment and wasn't trying to be mean. It just sound like one to me. My cousin has a John Deer pulling tractor that sounds about like your car. It might sound alot better in person.

I might be by myself in this but i think the Nissan 370z and the Nobel M12 has good sounding exhaust and they are both v6's.

I have both the mufflers still, maybe I'll crack mine open for kicks. Or warmth? lol
And thanks, it definitely sounds mean...loving it!
