Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new owner of a 2015 SHO PP bronze fire. Got it used with 10,000 km from a Ford exec so I'm happy about that. Being a Ford guy, it's a nice companion for my similarly colored 2014 Flex - Sunset metallic :).
As you all know the Taurus is a beautiful car, I feel privileged to own one.

The Flex has the 3.5 non-EB, but it's still pretty nice.

Glad to see more Bronzefire SHOs on the forums, Ford's done a bangup job with the range of colors they have offered. Welcome BHSHO, congrats on the new ride, and yeah, the Flex is pretty sweet too :thumb:

Thanks. What does the clay bar do? Is that a pre-wax thing? Does it get rid of the swirls etc.?

Last step in the cleansing process prior to beginning the polishing & protecting steps. Claybars will get stuff out of the paint that nothing else will, and, provided you use enough clay bar lubricant, leave a really slick finish.

+2 SHOdded........it basically removes the micro contaminants that a lot of people including myself thought the car washes got. The idea is you wash rinse then claybar and after removing the micro contaminants off the paint the follow up coating of polish and wax will have a much smoother surface to adhere to.

There are more detailed videos but this is a fairly detailed but simplified YouTube video from MeGuiars with the basic concept.

NOTE: If doing a claybar for the first time I recommend two bottles of detailer, there is no such thing as too wet with claybar. You can keep the extra

Note 2: If you don't think you can C/B the entire vehicle in one session work in sections. The Claybar will remove the wax so make sure you have enough time to apply wax over the claybarred area. I say sections like roof, doors, hood, fenders, quarterpanels, trunk, bmpers.

Note 3: Claybar will work on Glass, chrome, etc..

Thanks for the clay bar info. Do you do it every time you wash the car? Seems like that would be a lot of work.

The flex wheels are a little more masculine looking IMHO. They are 20" with a 255/45/20 tire. I would imagine the bolt pattern is the same, but not sure. Check out http://www.fordflex.net/, sometimes people sell them if they are changing styles or moving to a smaller rim for a smoother ride. Same wheel as the Edge.

Awesome color! First I've seen.
BTW, I clay bar mine once per year.
