Hey all, just picked up a 2010 SHO from Texas and driving it back home currently (Iowa). After creeping this forum for the last month or so I've gained a lot of knowledge on these cars, very appreciative of that!

So what I purchased, a 2010 with 25,624 miles. Only options it doesn't have are Nav and PP. I think I lucked out with this purchase. It was a one owner and serviced regularly as I got all of the service records and window sticker from the dealer the previous owner brought it to.

So on to my questions. What are some immediate service options to do? I've read some about the PTU fluid, should that be item number 1? Also, I plan on changing the oil when I get home. What about coolant and tranny fluid? Any and all info is appreciated!

Obviously a Garage Goddess and she lead a "sheltered" life (pun intended). Congrats on the find.

If for no other reason then to establish a base line for service, I'd flush and / or change all fluids.
For my 2010, the dealer so nicely left service receipts in the glove box from the previous owner so I wasn't left wondering what had been done.
It was a major relief finding out she had been routinely serviced (and with full synthetic oil changes).

I need to plan on doing that. Oil, tranny, coolant, PTU, rear differential, potentially brake fluid. Any other pressing issues I should look into?

Also, on this 14 drive home I have find a pulsing vibration when I steer to the right at highway speeds (50- 90mph) Any ideas on this? Wheel hub/bearing? Potentially something with the electronic steering?

Texas car. Low miles. Hmmmm......

Major hurricanes and massive floods come to mind. Hope the car didn't take on any water, and/or you verified title was clean prior to purchase.

If all checked out fine, then a gem in the rough for sure.

As mentioned, I'd personally swap out ALL the fluids, regardless of the circumstances.

Enjoy!

Did a lot of homework to make sure it wasn't flood damaged and it checked out good.

I'm planning on swapping all fluids. Just got home yesterday and have a nice little to do list.

Any thoughts on that pulsing vibration when turning to the right? At higher speeds it's def more noticable. Thanks!

Welcome, and congrats. First thing to do is get a good obd ii adapter like the OBDlink MX bluetooth, and Forscan Lite or Torque Pro Software for your smartphone/tablet. Then you can read stored codes from the PCM. Many trouble codes do not set a check engine light.

Where do you feel the pulsing vibration? Through the steering wheel, the floorboards, ...? It is possible it is the steering gear, but I have not heard of this problem with it before. Usually it is a lack of assist. Tie rods do go out. Could be brakes, strut mounts, even an intermittent wheel speed sensor. Reading codes will hopefully provide a clue. Otherwise time to get 'er up on a lift!

So it was a big evening. Changed out the oil, about 5 quarts of tranny fluid, and 4-5ish ounces of PTU fluid. Need to go back in for more PTU fluid sometime this week. All the fluids looked decent, tranny was Cherry, not light, not brown and PTU oil wasn't sludge yet, or at least not the few ounces I got out.

SHOdded, it's more you can hear it and maybe feel it in the wheel just a bit. My wife didnt notice it at all, but after a 1000 mile drive home after buying it, that pulse vibration is def there only when turning/moving the steering wheel at all to the right. Could it be a wheel bearing going bad? Another factor is the previous dealer put two brand new front tires on a month ago, and then it has the original RR and a 2012 LR tire, so a lot of mismatching there. I ordered 2 new tires that match the fronts so maybe that will take care of it.

I second the OBDLink, although you need the wifi version if you have an iphone. I would expect to fell less in the wheel if it is rear tires. I would change them out anyway because of their age. Sounds like SHOdded mentioned it's time to get it on a lift.
