The neutral safety switch in my ATX is bad so I need to replace it. The one I got from Ford is part number F5DZ7F293BA. Is this the right part? I don't wanna have the shop tear it all apart and then have the wrong part. I can't miss another day of work and I'm havin' it done tomarrow before work. Lemme know. Thanks. :D

Ben,

I contacted my secret agent operative inside Ford and he looked up that part number for me. He said it's the transmission range selector sensor for the AXOD, AXODE and the AX4S transmissions. Does that help?

Tom

BTW, Love that little dancing guy you got there.

OK cool should be the right part. Sadly I don't know if the SHO will last the 8k to see 200k, seems to be havin' some electrical problems. Last night I was drivin' and suddenly there was a huge ground loop causin' the stereo to give killer feedback, then the ABS light went on. When I got back out to my car from the health club, everything was fine again. Weird stuff.

Clean your battery terminals. Mine did the same thing when the negative terminal broke in half. Its the car temporarily losing ground.

I'll try replacin' the terminal. Any ideas on the best way to cut the cable without a Dremel? Mine blew out while tryin' to cut the bolts of the exhaust.

Ahhh... A set of side cutters should work fine. Just work slowly and don't try to cut it all at once!
