Thanks for the add ...new SHO owner 1994 sho automatic from Victoria BC Canada . i'm thinking of swapping this Motor in to a early 70's Ford Cortina rear wheel drive . Does anyone have a detailed plan to swap a SHO motor to a rear wheel ford ? what parts would be required and what needs to be fabricated

Thanks in advance

Motor mounts have to be fabbed. You can use the Ranger/aerostar bell housing. Not sure. It sounds like a few items will need to be fabbed to make it fit. You need to get measurements to make sure it will fit, size of tranny and driveshaft length. I don't recall if the essex bolt pattern is th esame as the SHO block. There was a Canadian (3.8L) Essex motor that we usually think of around here because it was used in similar year Taurus' as our SHO, and an older Essex (british?) 3.0 engine used as an option in the cortina.
