Or at least some moral support. Im broke as **** right now and the sho is giving me more problem than i feel like i can cope with. Im borderline to the point of doing something drastic like junking it over broken bolts.

The work that needs to be done on the car is as follows.

Replacing rear strut mounts.
replacing front knuckles and doing a normal brake upgrade instead of the hodgepodge of parts I have right now.
New front rotors
new drivers side lca
new wheels and tires, or at a minimum new tires
new ac compressor
not to mention a full 60k and fixing whatever else gets broken in the process of fixing everything
probably new rod bearings too
new intake instead of the shoshop style which is a pain to keep clean and change
new serp belt
figure out why front groans and creaks when i turn the wheel while moving slow even though i have new front strut mounts and bearings

not too bad, but i dont have the money for any of it really right now. I bought some rear strut mounts a while back before i was totally screwed on money. They were super shot and making all sorts of noise that i just couldnt stand. So finally this past sunday I started the process of replacing them.

Following the autozone/shop manual directions I fully disconnected the rear sway bar, breaking both of the bolts that hold it to the body in the process. Heated and pb blastered, still broke. Whatever. I can drive without a rear sway bar I could care less right now.

I then after tons of slamming and beating get the drivers side strut out and disassemble it and put the new strut mount on. I go to start on the passenger side this morning and I break the strut pinch bolt. I was very very careful with it, tons of pb blaster both over night and this morning, heated plenty. Even watched the end of the bolt turn so that i knew i wasnt breaking the bolt. After one full turn that turned the whole bolt, the head of the bolt snaps off.

So now I need to disconnect everything from the spindle, hoping I dont break anything else in the process. So now I either need a new rear spindle, or somehow to get the damn bolt out. Im so frustrated with this car right now I cant wait to get rid of it.

Sorry bit of a rant. I dont know if i want to try to get the rear spindle disconnected and take the whole assembly out, or if i want to just button everything on that side back up and forget about it till im not so ****** off.

if you need some parts for a 93, I have some. I know money in tight right now, but we could work something out. The only thing you would have to do is wrench it off the car. If there is anything I can do let me know.

do you want a stock one? If so you might want to talk to James. Cause the one that is in my junk car is gone I think.

Really right now, I dont know what im going to do. I could care less about the sway bar, and alot of the other maintinance stuff can be put on hold.

Just trying to take things one thing at a time. Right now I need to figure out what to do with a broke passenger side strut pinch bolt.

A word to the wise.

Never disable your SHO (start working on it) unless you have at least $150 cash in your pocket.

Oh, and where can I go to get new pinch bolts? Id rather not reuse the one non broken one.

Jeeze james, have you ever thought about going into business selling sho parts?

...:)

Oh, and its dark now so I can quit trying to break things. How do you get the rear abs sensor out of the spindle? I undid the little bolt that looks like it holds it in, but doesnt seem to budge? Is there some trick to this?

Well abs wasnt working anyway since I bought it, think it was just a disconnected connector though. Think i effed up the sensor magnetic head thingy trying to pry it backwards.
