need sub

I replaced my factory JBL head unit with a Pioneer head unit (DEH-P200 45wX4) a few months ago. Well the factory sub is about shot and I would like to replace it with a different sub. I have read that an 8" will fit in the factory box with a little modification. What is the ohm rating of the factory system?

I believe it is 6 ohms. Did you do the 8'' sub? Would like to know how it went.
