What's the problem with it? Is it just a junkyard 3.2? What all did you change?

I'm probably about an hour away. Maybe I can give you a hand.

it is a junkyard 3.2 but they pulled it for me and said it ran well when the car was rear ended. i basically threw the complete shortblock in, with the 3.0 oil pan, and 3.0 accesories. new flywheel, clutch, and rebuilt heads. i would appreciate it alot. the car runs kind of like its running on only 5 cylinders. let me know.

Edit: i would hate to make u drive an hour or more for something stupid. maybe you have a few suggestions or ideas of what i should check. im thinking about trying my old 3.0 injectors because i put in the 3.2's and im not sure if they were good.

spark plug wires are correct. i used the diagram i found on this site. we checked the timing about 10 times before we buttoned it up but i guess i can check again. if it was timing, would the car rev thru its entire rpm range?

Stupid question, but if it sounds like it is only running on 5 cylinders did you do a compression test?

As for the injectors, the 3.2 injectors will work and I would stick with those. It is inexpensive to have them flow tested and cleaned to make sure they are working 100%.

Also the timing could be off a tooth or so and it would run like that, but if you have double checked everything it sounds like that is not the issue.

ok i guess i can run a comp test. i know the 3.2 injectors will work but i was questioning if my 3.2 were in working order. i guess ill try to run a comp test. then swap injectors and then check the timing. thanks alot guys.

If you are questioning whether or not they work, it is worth it to have them cleaned and flow tested.

agreed, its cheap to have this done.
definitely sounds like a fuel/timing issue, spark issues usually seem to produce bucking and or a sharp revv limiter like miss
you can use your 3.0L injectors with no problems, but the 3.2's flow a little more.
im not sure of the history of this car,but its worth it to check the fuel filter too,if you have never changed it that is.
every SHO ive ever bought has had an old sorta clogged filter.

Hey guys, this is a copy and paste of what i responded to in my other thread about this problem. (can find it here: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=76313 )

alright guys, update.

there are no vacuum leaks.
the timing belt is aligned properly.
the front bank cams are alligned correctly(havent gotten to the back yet). im going to pull the rear valve cover and check the cam alignment on that.

i have a small side question. the marks on the cam chains dont line up with the cam gears everytime(i know this is correct) but instead of sitting there trying to turn the engine over until they line up, i can assume that as long as both cams have their bolts (on the drivers side of the cam) aligned flush with the mating surface of the head, they are aligned correctly right?

when we pulled the intake we could see lots of dirt on the 2, 3, 5, and 6 intake ports on the heads. the plugs from those pistons were dark. i assume it was very rich. 1 and 4 intake ports are very clean, just like brand new, and the plugs were a good color, not dark but not white from running lean.

im going to either send the 3.2 injectors out to be rebuilt or throw my Known-to-be-working 3.0 injectors in.

maybe after this, it will run correctly. i believe my problem lies with the fuel injectors dumping too much fuel thus causing it to run rich and bog and want to constantly die. can fuel injectors become stuck wide open? thanks alot guys for your help so far.

the fuel filter was replaced by me very soon after i got the car back in october 2005

Hmm. Maybe you didn't have one of the injectors plugged in right?

Now that you got it running good, ready to race?
