Hey all,

Been running my SHO since September and have since done the front 60k. Gaskets were leaking and I decided it was time to do something. New intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, wires, even fixed the few vaccuum lines i broke in the process. Well now I am down to the last little details and would love your help.

I have not been blessed with past SHOs and havent even seen one until mine floated around. I am not quite sure how well it could run, and if so, what it will take to get it there. Mechanic and I have noticed a misfire and can tell it probably can have a little bit more uumph.

Will be changing out the ignition coil soon as well as installing some new battery cables.

As of right now the engine codes are KOER- 116 & 136 KOEO 111 (This might be because of the loose battery cables and me occasionally putting them back firmly on the terminals)

111. is all clear.
116 does not appear on my list of SHO codes
136 is lean on left bank

lean on one bank is most often due to a oxy sensor being bad, but given your description it might be due to a vacuum leak affecting only the front bank - so I would have a hard look for a vacuum leak and then change the oxy sensor if I found no leaks.

I would not change the coil pack unless you have some solid indication of a problem with the coil, as most aftermarket SHO coils are not as good as 20-year old factory ones.

There is definitley a misfire. Ran codes again and did cylinder test, confirming a weakness in cylinder 2. I will check and see if its worth it to replace some of those long hard vac lines. I used a piece of wire to hold in those battery cables for now and will run codes as soon as I put some miles on it.

I was really hoping someone nearby could meet me at one time or another to really get a good critique. I am in the area of some here so let me know.

Since #2 is the middle rear cylinder, and since your lean code is on the front bank, things are less clear now... I would still look very hard for a vacuum leak, and I would swap around a couple of the plugs/plug wires to make sure that the new plug or wire on #2 is not part of the problem. (Those of us that have been around a while have seen bad plugs and bad wires right out of the box on occasion.)

Then I would reset codes and drive it a few days to see what codes pop up.
