Since these mufflers are chambered I would steer clear of them. Force induction motors want as little back pressure as possible. I would look for a good straight through muffler like a Magnaflow.

I take it you are removing your stock mufflers? I would look to get a Magnaflow around the same size and shape of your stock muffler.

Its just im a kid with decent money and this is my first time modding a car. so far all i have did is cosmetic stuff. is the factory style 2.5 center outlet to 2.5 offset inlet?

Since you are new, I would read the first couple of posts in this thread before throwing money into your SHO.

Think VERY carefully about this. It will limit who is willing to tune your car. For a street car, there are much better things you could do and keep your tuner options open. Keep an eye out for a used set of catted pipes if the cost is the issue.

I agree. A good pair of catted DP's will perform just as well as a un-catted set up.

Even though it seems to be a popular choice, and shouldn't be illegal, isn't it "technically" illegal to remove the 3rd cat as well?

What you decide to do with your vehicle is between you and God (and the local law enforcement) but by federal law tuners cannot modify any emmisions compliance monitoring equipment on the car. The 3rd cat isn't monitored by this so we don't care, but many tuners are really getting to where if you even MENTION cat deletes they won't tune you because they don't want any record of them having any dealings with customers with modified exhaust.

At the moment we will still tune for the performance aspects and fueling, but cannot and will not modify or remove any emissions monitor equipment sensors.
