I've been running avs es100 for sometime, but they wear out so fast and i simply can't afford to be replacing them almost 2x a year (i drive a good bit). i was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on a decent performance tire that had good tread wear. i do drive pretty aggressively and have liked how the es100's have handled, but being a poor college student i just can't afford it.

Tire Suggestion for Longer Life

You can check out Goodyear's Aquatred 3. This tire is rated to go past 60,000 and perhaps more. Of course, depending on your style of driving...the more aggressive you drive; the more rubber you are going to use. Good Luck on your choice.

I've got goodyear tripple treads, their handling is amazing, and they are holding up very well, my driving habbitrs are 1 step down from track use, I autoX and drag my car on the weekends (havent yet this season since I got tripple treads) I beat the crap out of my car and drive about 45K a year. I have run several differnet goodyears on my car.

gdy GThr, good traction poor tread wear, don't hold up well to constant launches and burnouts.
GDY reggata 2, good traction, tread life pretty good
GDY GT2 decent traction good tread life.
tripple tread amazing traction (high speed corners) pretty quiet, slightly stiffer tide than the GThr's but the traction makes up for it. the treadlife is amazing so far and I have put about 10K on them so far, I was only getting about 14K out of my old tires (the ones above) but like I said I drive VERY HARD!

I would reccomend trippletreads, they don't make them in 225/55/16 so you will have to either get 225/50/16 or 215/60/16 but the 225/50/16 are crazy expensive (>200 each) the 215's can be had for about 450 for the set. kind of pricy still but it is a quality tire, other than those I would reccomend kumo's because they are cheap as **** and are a good sticky tire. they to wear out a bit fast but you get what you pay for.

trippletreads are 80K tires. and aquatread 3's are trash, I work at goodyear and unless you can score a set REALLY cheap I wouldent toutch them, they are discontinued so IF there are any around you can usually haggle them down to get a great price.
