Need info on Tach problem

My tach is on the underside of the stop point. I think it was caused by a power surge when I hooked up some jumper cables. How can I fix this? Do I have to go into the dash. Oh and When I crank the engine the tach goes the opposite way? Anybody had this happen before or know how to fix it?

put the car in 1st gear and take it up to the rev limiter. This should knock it free. If it doesn't, then u'll have to take apart the front of the dash and face of the cluster and move the needle itself.

it always works for me- put it in 1st- race another SHO than accidently forget to change gears and hit the limiter and itll bounce back before you know it- happens very often to me
