Okay so I went under my car today because I heard a pop taking a corner hard the other day and turn out its a ball joint. Well during the process of figuring this out I noticed the suffrage on the passenger side where it mounts to the car the bushings are worn and the subframed is cracked and I don't have alot of money to dump into my car right now so I was wondering if anyone encountered an issue like this and what they did to fix it it's rusted and if I could just make it safe until I can save up enough to fix it properly then I will but that's not an option at the moment so please any feedback would be greatly appreciated and if there is someone who is very knowledgeable about this issue please feel free to chime in thank you guys very much

WHere is it cracked? The real fix is to swap in a used one. SV&HOdan is the best bet after checking salvage yards locally. Auto or manual car? SHo SOurce lists them for sale also. Not easy or super cheap unfortunately.

It could be welded for repair depending on where the damage is and someone who is good at it. I've never had to do this so I am just stating things that have been done before.

Can you get a couple of pics so we can get a better idea of the situation?

If a corner of the subframe is cracked and rusted away, there is no way to make it safe unless you swap a new one in. How is the rest of the car? How is the unibody where the subframe mounts? Pictures would be helpful. I just scrapped a car for this reason.

It's cracked now split where the bolt bolts to the cab under the car on passenger side its gotten worse I'm gonna try to weld a piece of steel around it and to the subframe for now until I can find a subframe to swap and of course all new bolts and bushings

The car has rust underneath some surface some more serious than that for the most part alot I can get off but some of it is just rotted and the circle part of the subframe where the bushing and the Bolt goes throw to bolt it to the body is where it cracked and I put it on the lift today to change put the ball joint which I bought from shosource thanks guys love it and I noticed it has now split in a piece of it and spread about 1/4 of an inch I'm going to try to find steel and fabricate a piece to wrap around the circle part and tack it where it's rusted if I can find a good spot and weld it the sides of the subframe where the steel is still good for now

Don't wanna salvage the car because it has only 111000 on it and runs very good and very strong and the paint job is glossy and beautiful tbh she shines up very good so good when I clean it I can't go anywhere without someone commenting on it or offering to buy it because they haven't seen one in years where I live there's only 2 of them locally to me and mine is prettier than the other one around

Contact @mrecoolgar
He may have a couple subframes, he is in Hershey pa. Not a far drive for you.
If he isnt active for awhile then PM me and i will get a hold of him personally
This is an excellent idea. I would do this first. I would also contact SV&HOdan and see what he has. I don't know if he has any ATX cars.
Then check out https://www.car-part.com/ for used parts listed from all around the country. The listings show location/distance from you so conceivable you could find one within a driving distance (maybe).

I wonder how much I would invest in a car with advanced rust spots. But I am older and less willing to chase that $h!t anymore. My 1st SHO came from northern va and was a rust basket case.
