Could be a diff pin. It could be a broken shifter...It could be a lot of things, but those come to mind immediately.

Its stuck in 4th, i can move the shifter up to 3rd but it does nothing just stays in 4th could the bad tob be jamming it while the engine is off?

I got under the car today and the rods are all connected like i say its stuck in 4th gear can't pull it out what could i check?

iirc didnt some one have a simmilar issue a while back and they ended up breaking the shifter inside the black box?:shrug::braincramp:


you could unbolt the rod from the trany and see if it will shift out then

How do u shift it with the rod off? and the tob is gone if i start it with the clutch pedal down it will go forward could it be binding some how?

Stick a screwdriver in the hole and pull/push the shifter shaft in/out and twist it side to side.

Remove the (Imperial Fighter) nut 10mm. Then stick a punch/screw driver through the hole in the shaft, and try to shift the tranny.

If you can't get it to shift, try turning both wheels as while shifting.

If none of this works, it's time to pull the tranny!

Now with this new info (stuck in 4th with shifter in neutral)...definitely sounds like an internal trans problem.
