I had bought a 94 mark vii or contenital didn't check I just knew it was right eatch hard button for my 92 but when I turn the unit off it turns it on also when I turn the fan up it turn it down. Is there a way to fix this. I was realy excited to replace the broken soft button unit. The button are in the same order and the plugs match perfectly but the wires seems to have changed. Everything is the same except the year and the car it came out of. Just went and recheck the car today it was a mark VIII

For most people, there is no easy way to do it. Some people on the forum have unsoldered and rewired the Lincoln model to make it work in a SHO. If you are good with electronics, it has been done, but there is no magical switch to make it work in a SHO short of rewiring.

iv got a Lincoln eatc in my 93 previous owner did the solder/rewire thing and now iv got to take it out and see if i can fix it. iv got no display on it and now the fan stopped working. i think his solder job came loose. i suggest if you do the solder/rewire thing find out exactly what you need to do first.

Or just find one out of a 95 and be done with the hassle of modifying it.
