I am doing my timing belt, and I have hit a real snag this morning. The freaking crank pully bolt will not come loose. I have tried everything I could think of, but it still will not come off! I know what you all are thinking, but I am not some little girl who needs a man to do this, but is there any tricks that you know of to get this thing off? I do not have access to an impact right now. Please help, I need to get my car back up and running before Saturday.

most of the time an impact wont work anyways.

You need to try the starter method. Place a socket and ratchet on the crank bolt, in such a way that it sits on the subframe pointed down and towards the front of the car.

Make sure the socket is seated well on the bolt, disconnect the DIS, make sure the car is in neutral, then crank the starter over using the ignition key/switch.

kind of a freaky way, but it has proven to work every time thumb

^^^ What he said.

If you search the forum for 'starter bump', I think Scott P. has posted a picture with a good description on how to do this.

Thank you for helping me out. It worked like a charm. Now if I could only get these stupid injecters to seat right, I would be in great shape!

Nice pic and does her own work too. Woo hoo! thumb
Good job and good luck. Seat the injectors in the fuel rail first to be sure they all have good seals, then install in the heads. I'm sure you have it figured out by now.
