I have installed a different HU and am stumped since the amp is not working. I have used the speaker by-pass and it worked. I then tried it with just the amp harness and no sound comes out. After looking at the wiring diagrams, thanks Bizzy :D , I have determined that there is a Dark Blue wire coming out of the power harness that is used I think to tell the amp to turn on. All my speakers work, all fuses are good, I just think that the amp doesn't turn on. Here is the link to the '89 wiring diagrams. http://shoforum.com/diagrams/1989/8903.pdf

Thanks for any and all help.

EDIT: After looking in the search thingy, I think I have some of it figured.
The DARK BLUE wire coming out of the wiring harness is the Amp turn on, remote thingy, but here is my problem. My stereo does not have a Amp turn on wire! I want to use my amp!

Well, I went back into the car and plugged in the old stock deck and got nothing out of the speakers. This leads me to believe that my amp took a dump. If anyone has any ideas of things to try, let me know.

No worries.

All you have to do is tap that blue wire to a fuse that only comes on with the Ignition. You don't have to worry too much about current draw, as it is MINIMAL. All that wire does is send a positive reference signal to the amp, telling it to turn itself on.

Hey, thanks NotSoSlowSHO, but I have a friend here locally that owns 12 SHO's. So parts are never that much of a problem. :D I'm probably gonna get a 90 SHO amp or something, we'll see.

Thanks for the help though. :thumb:
