Just bought a car down here that needed a Catlytic converter. Well replaced that and go to take it down the street and it completely dies. I have no idea what to do. Its got no spark. We figured that much out. Its got to be some sort of sensor.

Please help...

Thanks

I'm in the tampa bay area. I was think cps as well. It did run, but just died and has no spark now. Does the 95 atx have a cam shaft position sensor?

Ok good to know. I ordered a crank, cam and DIS sensor.lol I just need it fixed and gonna replace them all. I checked the battery connections, they are all good. Its got to be one of the sensors, cause the car just died randomly.

yeah well the most common ones are the 3 you ordered so in theory, after you replace them all you should be good to go

Mine did this and it was a little fuse located in the engine compartment that says ign on it. Replaced this little fuse and it started right up. Mines a 1993 ATX.

The fuse block drivers side engine compartment at the very end of it are 2 little fuses. The rest are big style fuses and at the very end are 2 little ones with one being Ignition.

Yea i cant think of any reason why it did. I was so nervous.

I just came all the way from NC to get this car knowing needed a cat. I have lots of friends down here so we trailered it back to one of their houses and replaced it. Then to have these issues.
According to the PO the cat got cherry red. It runs a little rough(low idle), so i got o2s to replace tomorrow and then see how it does.

That happened on my 93 the guy drove through a puddle and the car died. No spark and no fuel. Replaced the fuse and the car never gave me another issue.

I'm glad you got it running. I was surprised when you called to say the car just died. It never did that to me. The O2 sensors were replaced about 4 months before the cats crapped out. I will look for the receipt for them. You may be able to go into advance and give them my phone number and they might be able to warranty them. If you have anymore issues with it please call me. That was a great car and never let me down.

from what i was told when the same thing happened to me, it's caused by brake fluid dripping on the connector right beneath the master cylinder.
