I need a new or rebuilt or re-workable crankshaft for my 1992 3.0L engine. Also one piston rod. Both seem pretty scarce. East coast source would be best, but I'm open to any help.

You're in a bit of a bind. I think you would be able to find a good condition whole motor to buy. Check the classifieds here and see if Eric still has his 3.2l motor for sale and would be willing to ship it. People have been swapping the 3.2 shortblock as it bolts up to the manual tranny and gives more torque&hp.

Dude,

Look at wear he's from, I would think just shipping a crank would be $$$$$$$$$$. eek!

I hope that one of you can help at a SHO owner from the land of warm beer and Lucas electronics. :D
My favorite tech placard I found on a piece of equipment I was servicing once.
("This unit is positively earthed")

What happened with that crank lead that I sent you? The guy in Washington?

Englandsho, I know you're a military man and the pay sucks, but Torrie at FPN can get you a Reman crank for 676.13. That doesn't sound too bad to me, considering you plan on keeping the car. I'm in a similar situation, except I'm a college student and have no income, just a piddly little savings. I would think that ATK and Jasper would also have remanufactured crankshafts.

I am aware of where he's from. As was stated a new crank was $600+ Eric's motor was somewhere around $300 for a 3.2. Shipping cost will suck either way but there are ways to get it done. It was a suggestion which is more than you suppplied.

Would love a bottom end I could just bolt on, but the shipping weight to my AF box is limited to 70 pounds. Almost had one from ebay that my nephew in New Jersey would have disassembled for me, but I was away when the auction ended and lost out. Will check the classifieds. Thanks.

check out www.ebay.com I saw a crank on there just the other day for cheap.
Checked, but only found a crank pully. Missed out on an entire short block about a week ago! Will keep my eye out. Thanks for suggestion.

Hi Rick,
Sorry for the slow reply, was out of town for several days. Got an email from your lead and sent him several back, but never heard from him again. Started pursuing a couple of others, but they fell thru. I could try again if you think it worth while.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
I would try again. He told me it was still available and I forwarded the email address to you the same day. Something must have come up that got in his way. I doubt he sold it.

Been out of town or would have replied sooner. Goes with the territory here. Drop me an email about what you've got and we'll talk.
Cheers,
Steve
