Need a link/ rear strut mount replacement!!

So, it is 15!! degrees outside, and I need to bang this out FAST!
Can the strut be removed as an assembly, if the mount is broken?
Or do I compress the spring before I remove the strut?
Any tips or tricks to replacing the mount would be VERY helpful.
If it wasn't so damn cold, I would just go out there with a 6-pack, and
take my time.... Not an option today, the beer would freeze!!!:thankyou:

Strut, Spring, and Mount can be removed all together. IF you can get the knuckle pinch bolt out without snapping it.
After that it will take a hammer to tap the knuckle down the strut and a long bar to pry down on the arms to get the strut out of the knuckle. Good Luck!

I did not want to get every thing taken apart, and have it fly apart!
(Been there!) Almost got me real good one time, that's why I wanted to
be SURE!! lol Thanks, I will start soaking the pinch bolts asap.. :thankyou:

Just work the pinchbolts out a little at a time.

Crank the bolt half a turn and tighten it back up. Crank it back and forth in that 1/2 turn you just used...then crank it another quarter to half turn.

Repeat this process, cranking it out a little more each time.

BTW it is the unthreaded shoulder of the bolt immediately after the bolt head that will seize and snap off, generally not the threaded part.
