K.....got a friend whom I work with who's got a gen IV Taurus. She needs a heater core, but has like almost no cash, and with winter coming up and having a 2 year old and pregnant to boot, I figured I might be a nice guy and see what I could do about finding someone who might could help her out and get the damn thing working for her so she and her kid ain't gotta freeze this winter. Anyone game? I'm sure her and her husband would be willing to throw in some booze or something....

The heater core in that car is SUPER easy to do. Any qualified mechanic should be able to do it fast. My best time is less than an hour.

What?!!

You mean you don't have to remove the dash in the Gen 4 to replace the heater core?

Well, at least they got it right finally. That 11 hours shit to replace a heater core was ridiculous!

You do sort of, just unbolt it and holt it up slightly and the heater slides out of a pannel right behind the ash tray. all taurus from 1996 up to 2004? are the same
