I pulled my codes the other day, and it's pretty clear that I need to replace my O2 sensors. I've been unable to find any threads on here that detail the removal/installation process, and my SHO repair guide is absolutely useless. I drive a '95 ATX. If it isn't too much trouble, could somebody please give me a detailed explanation (for someone who is by no means a mechanic), or point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Max

Do a search :p J/K

Safely jack the car up. Unplug the O2 sensor that is located on your Y-pipe right below your exhaust manifold (it's the silver thing with a wire sticking out where the exhaust is closest to the motor). Then with your 02 socket on a ratchet loosen the old 02 sensor. Replace both and plug them back in. Don't over tighten them but make sure that they are snug :thumb:

The rear O2 can be tricky, i believe i used a combination of universal joints and extensions to remove it. And, do yourself a favor, make sure your car's not completely warmed up before you do this...it's hot down there, and easy for knuckles to hit trans pan :(

Front is super easy.

For the rear I just layed on top of the engine with my heads toward the firewall and snaked my arms down there. 21 mm wrench if I recall right.

Don't let others fool you. Its extremely easy once you figure out the trick to access to the rear. Unfortunately if you don't you'll struggle for a while.

I’ve always just used an adjustable wrench on the 02's on the SHO. Although I did have to get a socket from my gf's civic since the hex part is recessed under a heat shield.

MTX is a cake walk. TONs of room from below.

ATX front is easy. Rear requires a small amount of thinking how to contort yourself. Some have had luck using an O2 socket, u-joint and tons of extensions.

I myself just use a 21 mm wrench and lay on top of the engine.
