There is a tube connected to the intake plenum near the front passenger side of the engine that connects to a small silver canister like object. The tube has "#6" written on it. I was just wondering what this does, I have found a small crack in the tube and I hope I can attribute this to my slightly noticeable power loss.

That's vacuum to the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator). Just get some 3/16" vacuum tubing at your local auto parts store.

thanks for your input. Would a small leak have any effect on performance?
Any vacuum leak is going to negatively effect performance, but is usually dependent on the size of the leak. You don't really give any information about your power loss, so it's hard to say, but it's always a good idea to start by reading your codes.

Admitingly, I am overdue on a code check. The power loss is not substansial, however, I feel that I should be getting a little more power out of the engine. I will run my codes and post my findings. Thank you again.

The fuel pressure regulator can only reduce pressure and not increase it. So if the vacuum line is leaking bad enough the pressure would be increased.
