So my SHO has been idling incorrectly for a month now so long story short went through all the ususal things it could be turned out to be all in workin order and well following vacuum hoses i decided to pull the vacuum hose thto the intake to the fuel rail to my surprise it idles normal reinstall it it dies. so guessing its that sensor but dont know the 'correct name' for it to do a search.pulled codes and not getting any related to this.( power steering pressure switch code) :thankyou:

You could probably pull one from a junk yard sho and use it instead. I don't recall many regulators going bad on the forums.

Yes, it is very expensive, but it rarely fails. Getting a used fuel rail will probably be rather easy.

However, i'd check what your fuel pressure is before you accuse the regulator.

You could have an issue with your fuel pump or something else, and pulling the vacuum off the regulator just helped deal with it....

Funny thing is when its cold it acts up once its to temp it runs fine. thats what has me pulling my hair out cause ive changed the iac with no luck the tps no luck cleaned intake and throttle body no luck so next was vacuum lines and thats when i pulled the regulator line and it idled fine. reconnected it car died.. there are a few junkers in the yard here so I will go pull one from them and cross my figures.... hopefully no more punching myself in the balls

I think I still have my original with the rest of my spare parts. Probably looks nearly new too.

Have you replaced the ECT?

If the PCM isn't getting the correct coolant temp it will run incorrectly...

I replaced that fuel pressure regulator on mine, maybe about 2 years ago? I think it was $45+shipping.

Nope havent replaced the ECT will look into it for sure thats not the 1 wire plug correct??

Tore into the Sho yesterday and when I pulled the regulator all clear pulled the other one not sure of its name next to the regulator and found white rubberish material blocking the fuel inlet. So while I was that far into it and great wheather decided to do the upper 60k. Its all back together and is running great.
