I think it sounds like the TOB or something to do w/ the clutch. I don't think it is rod bearings because you can only hear it at a specific RPM and doesn't change pitch with different RPMs. sounds more like a loud rattle comming from the tranny or left side of the motor. here are a couple vids, let me know what you guys think it is:

I have the same noise and I just put a new throw out bearing in. Put your hand on the clutch lever (or whatever its called) and see if you can feel that specific vibration to that noise. Mine you can feel the it along with hear it from there.

can u feel the vibration in the intake it could be one of the cam timing chains slaping around, the tensioner could get gumed up with oil and not put enough tension on the chain.
