Buy an MTX or have your ATX rebuilt :( . That might be the only solution, but some ATX owner's might chime in an tell me i'm terribly wrong :D

buy and MTX, what kind of stupid answer is that?! who would want that POS. :p

sorry to tell you but the tranny is dead, mine does the same thing, only thing you can do is have it repaired to the tune of $1500-$2500

It's amazing how many people out there seem to think that the only solution to an ATX tranny problem is to tell the owner to buy an MTX! The simple mathematics is that there are more than TWICE the number of ATX Gen2 SHO's than MTX's.

People come to this forum looking for help with a situation, not unsolicited comments on what kind of car they should own. If you think someone else should have an MTX, then buy them one.

RedSHO93, in your case I suspect your tranny is just about cooked. Sounds like the planetaries have burned up and you'll need to start thinking about getting a rebuilt transmission. I'm not aware of many SHO's in PR, nevermind SHO mechanics. In this rare case I think your best bet might just be to go to Ford and get one of their rebuilt trannys. Should run about $2600 with a 3/36 warranty. You could probably get it done cheaper at a transmission shop, but you'll probably have nothing but problems... Sorry! frown

Get the ATX rebuilt with a shift kit and then tell the MTX owners where to stuff it. An ATX with an LPM and a shift kit will outshift even the best of MTX drivers, just with a little more driveline loss is all. :)

Still, the MTX is a hoot to drive.
