Falken Azenis Sport 245/45-17

Of course, I still don't have the wheels to put them on, and the track car is currently 3rd gearless...

But after seeing these tires first hand, the pics don't do them justice. These things are WIDE and SQUARE. They look like 10" wide slicks. :D

I really like them because of their super stiff sidewall. They also run big for their size. I know their 225/45R17 is more like a 235/45R17 when compared to my old SP 8000's. I will be curious to hear how they fit.

SCCA considers it a street tire. :)
Per Vulcan Tire - "Meets SCCA Street Class Requirements"

200 treadwear A / A

Be careful if ordering, they come in H, V, & Z ratings.

Oh, and another testimonial...

Kirk saw them last night & the first thing he said to me was, "Oh, I'm gonna have to find a way to screw you out of those..." thumb

Thats a great tire fred, and i'm sure the price was good too!! thumb

Problem is, the Parada is only really available in Tuner sizes (225 max width, IIRC). Dan (guy from Town Fair Tire, whose 92 SHO I just worked on) has the Parada in 19" on his WRX.

FWIW, I've heard that the paradas are much closer performance wise to the Yokohama ES100's, and aren't even close to the azenis. Thats the word in the local autocrosses anyways.

Well I heard that the Paradas suck; that they're just a show tire. shrug
Adam, the size selection for the Azenis is very limited. The only sizes really appropriate for the SHO are 225/45/17 and 245/45/17. DiscountTireDirect.com sells them.

I don't want to get off track here. And i know many people are anti Goodyear.... But i went a head and got me a pair of goodyears when i got my rims. I got the Goodyear eagle gs-d3's 245-45-17. They are freaking awesome and i haven't been able to break them loss hardley at the track. And they handle on the on and off ramps like a a champ. Really sticky.. And they handle the rain really really well. You should check them our Fred. I like them and I give them a thumb

I haven't had a set of Goodyears on my car since the OEM GT+4s, but it is nice to see that Goodyear of the good ole' US of A has finally created a good performer -> TireRack Survey Results

They make a 205/55/16 v-rated tire... would that work on my t-bird 16x7.5" wheels? Would throw the speedo off ~3 mph @ 60, not horrible. Price is right and I would love to have them after hearing some of the reviews from scca guys (Thanks Eric, haven't gotten anything accomplished all night wink )

Sure, as long as the load rating isn't too low.
