I thought I would share with all of you some pics of the progress of my catback exhaust setup of 2 Thrush welded mufflers and my Magnaflow 5" round for the resonator with 14 gauge 2.5" pipe:

These are what I am using for tips (now on back order until the 10th of Oct.)

It sounds pretty nice, has a nice low rumble at idle, pretty smooth at cruising rpms, when I mash the pedal it makes a statement. Zero rasp! It feels like I gained some bottom end torque back. The old muffs had some serious holes in them. I know there are lots of pics, just got a new camera, tryin it out! :woo-hoo:

I haven't done anything with the y-pipe yet. I wonder how much it would change the sound, or for that matter, the bottom end torque? If I did go with a new y-pipe, I would probably go w/ATX catted, when I do get one.

Sound clips coming soon...:)

X2:munch:

What about the "Y" pipe?
What kind do you have?
I have a similar set up!! but i have a 3" catless "Y" with Flow's !!

I was thinking of doing something similar for the rear y, but that certainly help with thw visual!

I was also going to make my own piping, but instead of having it bent, I was going to use mandrel bent J's and U's and weld everything together.

My catless y pipe will be made the same way:naughty:

It looks like he's got enough room there, it looks like he's got about 1 1/2" - 2" of room on the Drivers side of the Y, which would make about 4-5" of tire movement. Even if it were to hit it, the hanger should have plenty of play too.

LOL Now I see what your talkin about.. yea he did get that pipe a little close there.. :) I'll give you a call later on today and see if you got that tank dropped outta there.. :) Thats definately something I would want to keep in mind when building an exhaust around it. Looks good tho, and when you get that pump swapped out, I'll help ya get a video clip of it. ;)

P.S. I told u you would need those bolts / clips for the straps...... :)
