Ok I am relatively literate when it comes to this stuff but I have checked everything & my amp keeps blowing the 30 amp on the amp itself. It keeps trying to power itself & you can hear the subs for like a split second but eventually it pops the fuse. I checked all connections & all other fuses but no luck. Any suggestions? I MISS my subs.

ACV1081 .... Like 94shoboy said. Check all wires. If everything looks good its in your amp. What type of amp do you have ??

Another question would be ... What happened before it started to blow ?? (Did you change batteries or get a jump ??)

Oh my god I seriously ****** somebody off upstairs! I have had the worst luck lately.... I went through & checked EVERY wire in the trunk & then restripped the ground, power, & remote wires. I have the setup that ties the subs in off the two rear speakers so I checked all those too. I disconnected everything, then put a fresh 30 amp fuse in the amp(california 2400 2x200) I turn the cd player on & *pop* smoke starts billowing out of my amp... now I'm sure it's toast but up until this point it's been a great amp. I am lost & now need a new amp. I am wonering though what it is/was that amp or wiring? No new additions as of late cept for a new battery but its been in for a couple weeks & it's the same exact one that was in before. I am thinking about going on ebay for a new amp(any suggestions reasonably priced?) & then going to the local install place & having the amp setup totally rewired UNLESS you guys think it was the amp just went bad. Sorry for the long post but I think this covers everything.

Honestly I think it was the amp. I had the same one before I worked at a radio shop. It lasted bout 5 months in my car. It was only hooked up to 2 10s. If you can get a deal on E-bay go for it. Just make shur its new in the box with factory warranty. You get what you pay for.

What size wire you running ???

Same thing happened to me with an alpine amp.

IF you are good with the solder pencil, replace all voltage input transistors and it will probably solve your problem. Take it to a shop that does free estimates to find out exactly what's wrong, and usually for about 20-40 dollars you can fix it yourself with some time and a solder pencil.

I've done it now with 3 amps, and they are still runnin strong..

Thanks everyone! I don't know what to buy now for an amp cause that one really wasn't too great. I may try to get it fixed but I am running a huge power wire into it & the california couldn't handle the size anyways... any suggestions on a good 400-500 watt 2 channel amp? By the way that one is about 4 years old so it served its time.

Here's a pic of what is blown(see inside yellow circle) is that fixable & would that just blow up? Electronics are crazy. http://images.andale.com/f2/100/119/6956884/1006139198557_blown_something.jpg
PLEASE TELL ME A GOOD AMP TO BUY... just looked on ebay & wow I am amp illiterate. I have 2 jlw4's and want an amp that is going to push them nicely since they've never actually been tested with my POS amp that blew. Thanks guys.
