My air bag light flashes at me!?

I've never had this happen to me before in any of my cars. What does this mean?
If it starts flashing, I turn off the car. Wait a few seconds, turn the key (without starting), wait about 10 seconds, then start it. Most of the time, the light won't flash after that.

Huh... I wondered why the damn thing was flashing. I thought, if there's a problem with the airbag, why would they make it flash!? I guess, if I put a little more thought into it, I would've figured that its trying to give me a code. Next time it happens, I'll get the code and post it here. I was playing around behind the radio last weekend but I think it started flashing before that (I can't remember). Thanks for the help so far.

Finally!! IT started flashing again. I get 6 flashes, then another 6, then another 6, then another 6, then another 6, then.... IT JUST DOESN'T STOP!! Anybody know what that means. It started flashing after I got on it a little but I didn't pass 5.5Krpms. I wasn't racing it, I was just pulling out from a stop.
