Mustang Wheels On My SHO

Tossed my wheels off of my 18 GT on my SHO today to see how they would look. They are the performance package wheels. I feel they look okay but would look a lot better if I put the tires off of my stock wheels on there. Tires on the performance pack wheels look too small. Both 19".


Was debating powder coating the stock wheels black or using Mustang wheels.

The mustang wheels bolted right up but does anyone know if they will work without issue? I didnt drive the car around but someone said I'd need some hubcentric deal as the wheels might feel off-balanced. I'm not too sure.

Swapping your stock tires on would help a lot. Besides the GT wheels being fairly heavy, I like the look!

And yes, you'll want to get hubcentric rings to make sure they are properly centered and the load doesn't rest with the lugs. They are $10-15 off eBay/Amazon for a set of 4.

May just be me, but I like the contrast of the silver wheels more. It matches all the rest of the chrome on our boats lol.

You can drive them without hubcentric adapeter rings but BE SURE to tighten all 5 lug nuts very evenly. Doing this by hand (no power tools) is rather easy if you pay attention.

I believe the size you're looking for is 63.4mm ID to 70.5mm OD hub centric rings. I'm having a hard time finding that size, which surprises me.

I run 4 on mine, but I have aftermarket wheels that have a larger hub bore than your Mustang wheels. When I ran aftermarket wheels on my Explorer, the wheel shop said I only needed two for the front to make sure the wheel was centered to prevent/minimize shake. Based off that, you could do what SHONST said and tighten them evenly and everything will be fine. Just retorque the wheels after drive time to make sure nothing is loose.
