I've used both Dex3/Mercon and Mercon 5 in my MTX and I prefer the Merc 5. It seems to shift smoother and I have about 190k on my transmission.

I've tried a few, and ended up back where I started: Mobil 1 ATF

Seems like I have a few options..... Thanks for the input. I haven't been under the car except to change the oil so i never looked for a tranny drain plug but I'm assuming its fairly accessible? Also, how much fluid to use?

Yeah, unless someone took the time to install one, there is no drain plug. There is a fill plug on the left side (read: pointing towards the front bumper) that can be used to pump the fluid out (what I did), or you can do a search on the forum for instructions on adding your own drain plug.

when you drive you'll hear clucking noise and the tires sometimes locking up. That means the pin popped out and you need a new diff. Seeing how hard these transmissions are to come by, may not easily find one again. I been through 3, till I finally smarted up and got the one in there now welded. I recently had to get the reverse fixed. These tranny's suck.
