Sr. SHO Engr.
This is the second time this has happened on my car. The black phenolc pivot joint bonded to the shifter handle has cracked and now allows the shifter to rotate in my hand. I am looking for the threaded shaft that incudes the black plastic 4-bolt pivot ****** that bolts to the top of the shifter box. The shaft spans from the treaded end at the top where the leather shift **** screws on, to the black plastic ball on the bottom that inserts into the long shift rod.

Update 21Oct2012:
I have been able to purchase a repalcement shifter handle. Thanks to all those who responded to help keep the old SHO on the road. With the shfter fix in the works, I polished, waxed and detailed the old girl in preparation for her road trip next weekend "camping" with my 9-year old daughter. I needed the SHO because it is so much more of a work horse and pack mule (large trunk and hitch mounted bike rack) than the tuned BMW 335i. When piloting the SHO, it still feels so much more like DRIVING a car than the newer, nicer and much faster ride.
Regards,
Scott
