Pretty much anyone who wants to buy a "kit" is welcome to, but don't expect your hand to be held putting it all together.

I'm as much of a cheapskate as anyone, and I'm pretty handy, but when I wanted an LCD TV I just went to the store and bought one, I didn't try to buy all the parts and put it together myself.

Wussy... ;)

i have also had the MTX convertion done by kirk and i was also some one of a tester and now we got all the problems settled its a good car i may have lost the diff pin in mine but that was just bc of the transmission i supplied and is my own fault but other then that its awesome!! i would recomend this to every V8 sho owner and is worth every penny and i "helped" (stood around and watched pretty much) the whole process and it is nothing an ordinary mechanic could do! i will also be dynoing mine in the spring once i put a quaif or wave trac in it and we can let you kno the number results. but you also have to think about the weight difference between the 2 transmissions, helps the power to weight ratio also

I dont have an exact price. But on mine that will be for sale..

what is a rust free 1996 worth? in 9.5 put of a 10 condition?
3000-5000 Somewhere...

Re-welded Motor?

Qualife Trans?

Rod Shifter

BBB manifold Only 3rd one in the world.

Cutom plates, and adaptors.

R and D costs

Wheels, tires, brakes all new

1st place car show award(S) and front page news paper article.

I dont have a clue as to its worth, I have a figure in my head of what the absloute minimum would be, but untill I have the new disc in Im not really thinking about it.

But ill let you guys figure out a good price.. You guys place figures in here.

And Im not talking about "I found a Gen 3 on Fleabay for 400.00 and some guys found a quailfe trans for 500.00 and R and D should be free" discussions.

As far as Kits go.

60% of the swap anyone could do if you know how to pull motors and install trans, its the other 40% that makes the job impossible to sell as a kit, for now. I could make jigs to send out to make the right cuts, but that adds to the cost, plus I know that jigs will get bent, broken, mis placed or never sent back.

So, if someone asks for a "ballpark price", that car would cost about the same as what it costs to buy a ballpark???

Yeah, I know.....

In the long run, though, I'm more partial to Scott's setup using the Mazda tranny. Better for parts availability.

Its nice, but you have to cut have the main rail out of the car..

Plus stock sho parts are plenty full.

So basically at this point in time you dont have any for sale?
Get the car to MA and the MTX conversion can be done in a few days.

I'm sure Kirk can give you a price on the bellhousing adapter plate, flywheel spacer, starter bracket, motor mount bracket, and intermediate shaft bracket along with a tuner to make it all work and a clutch kit from SHO Nut; but the modifications to the subframe, engine block, transmission, wiring harness, and floor pan plus the installation of a clutch cable and quadrant and shifter are really not "easy DIY" items for 99% of the SHO community. The good news is that once the conversion is done, maintenance (i.e. clutch job) is pretty much the same as any other MTX SHO.

What to do if I can't return this tuner I just bought

I just bought this tuner: SCT LiveWire Tuner 96-99 Ford Taurus SHO 3.4L V8 9600

I may not be able to return it but If I get the swap could I still use this tuner instead of the tuner to listed for the mtx tranny?
