i think he means a more detailed explanation.
umm well the atx is 3 gears with O/D making a total of 4 and the mtx is 5 gears. the gear ratio is different of course. the mtx uses 2 shafts for the passenger side axel where the atx uses one because the transmission extends there most of the way.
the diff is different atx is pretty tough outta the factory where the mtx is bad.
i dont know theres more differences you'd have to research more

Bad as in the MTX's diff pin tends take a trip through the tranny's case.

* Fixed with welded "L"s

or quaife for the richer.

Although im making good money , i cant swallow the price of the quaife...its unreal , i think ill stick with the welded...for now.

dont forget, mtx= manual transaxle, atx= automatic transaxle, these terms are for FWD (front wheel drive), front engine cars. its because the transmission, the differential, and the drive axle are all together in one unit up front. TRANSmission,differential,driveAXLE= transaxle

dont forget the atx going bad on you. its recommended to stay outta overdrive until needed like cruising speeds, i dont recommend it when passing either.
atx is expensive as **** to replace. best bet is get a computer upgrade for better shifting. also do regular fluid changes and use good stuff. you really dont want that going bad.
lol reminds me i got a atx with good axels and all im trying to get rid of lol. no problems with the trans at all
