There are a few people running the MSD coils, no feedback on them yet tho. These cars are also tuned+ so maybe the difference is not noticeable.

I’m over 100k and getting an occasional studded under load and just replaced the plugs so I think I have a coil farting out. Didn’t wanna spend the extra 150 bucks if there was no reason but to look cool

I think most of it will be the "look cool" factor. OEM ignitions are pretty advanced. What I would be concerned about is how finicky the aftermarket coils get with a weak battery.

Rockauto says the Denso are the OE part. $37.79 per part comes to $226.74 for all 6 new. Not a bad price at all.

I thought I saw a set of MSD for the 2010-2012. I can't say for certain but I think it was a 2 pin connection vs 3 pin for 2013+?

I have them installed. Acceleration is definitely smoother, mph went up some, but can't say there was an actual performance gain.

When i had my tune made from Livernois they told me the MSD coils performed worse when they tested them. Thats why i never bought them but seeing actual numbers i may buy them. I do see plenty of reviews that they just die randomly. So just keep the stocks in the vehicle somewhere with a wrench just incase

Ran them for over 30K miles. No issues. These aren't the COPs that they use in the modular engines. The modular coils are awesome but for some reason ford didnt bring that level of badass over to the eb platform. Gen 2 coils happened for a reason as well. Livernois is a joke tbh as unless you live near them you never really get a true tune. I bought mine directly from MSD for like $260 I think.

Matt has the dyno sheet somewhere. I will ask him to chime in on this thread.

Still like 36hp at crank with 25% driveline and heat loss. I dont know the exact percentage loss from crank but its usually 20-30% depending on air temp, elevation and calibrated dyno

HP Loss = (elevation x 0.03 x horsepower @ sea level)/1000

Thats from the book of all confusing knowledge on my desk, i live at 300ft elevation and i dont have a clue where the dyno was. Could have been in Denver. Then the actual hp is different on a dyno where i live
