Keep Alive Memory. There is a KAM circuit that provides power to computing units to save data. You auto PCM has adaptive functions based on streams of data and prevents loss of this data when the car is turned off. If you want to clear adaptive tables with previous driving inputs, you make sure all power has been purged from the system to get a fresh reset.

unplugging the battery works? Or is there another method to do. May have a built-in capacitor to hold memory functions.

It may hold memory functions for a little while. I have owned a bunch of older SHO's and I usually unplug the battery for a little while and maybe even put a load on the electrical system and turn on the headlights or whatever.

More modern cars I am not as familiar. I have a '14 f150 but I have not had a reason to clear KAM memory yet so I don't have a great answer off the cuff, but I'm sure I could get one in quick google search. There may even be OBDII devices that can clear adaptive data tables without power interruption.

Everyone should have their coil packs by end of today and one will be delivered on Monday.

I have 6 people on the list for January's order. I will only order 10 coil packs. If you're interested PM me this will be the last order I'll put in.

So with these coils is it recommended to open the spark gaps at all? What about dwell time adjustments?

In the article they say these were tested with sp542 plugs with a .028 gap, it mentions more performance potential at .026 gap but they didn't do a gap test. I would use the same plug and gap range as their test to ensure similar results.
