WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE THE MOTOR, FROM THE TOP OR THE BOTTOM. WHERE SHOULD YOU PUT THE CHAIN SO NOT TO BREAK ANYTHING.

pulling it out the top is pretty easy. We used the 2 bolts on the rear head (where the intake manifold supprts go) and for the front we used an exhaust manifold stud. We left the tranny in the car, but you can yank that out with it if you so desire.

In a recent post on this topic, (there were a few good ones, try a search to get more info) I learned that the manuals are probably easiest out the top and the automatics out the bottom. I have all manuals and pull them out the top.

I am lucky enough to have a lift, and everyone I have done so far has been out the bottom. I put 4 jack stands under the sub frame, then remove the bolts. Then I just lift the car, and the engine/tranny/sub frame all stay on the ground. Real easy for me. finger
