I dont wanna do it myself, i wouldn't know where to begin. How much do shops usually charge. I wanna go to SHONUT and get the reinforced ones, do I need both mounts and the tranny mount?

Book time on the mounts is about 1 hour per corner, give or take.. It's like 2.8 hours to do all of them...

hang on..

Front Right (the one that breaks the most) 1 hour
Rear Right 1.8
Both front and back engine mounts at same time - 2.2

Left (trans mount) 1.7

It's really not exceptionally hard... You need jackstands, a piece of 2x4 and a scissor jack to push the engine up.

The transmission mount rarely fails on the MTX SHOs. You can check the condition of it by looking inside the driver side wheel well with the tire and wheel removed. The front mount takes all the beating from clutch dumps and acceleration while the rear mount tackles reverse and lift throttle transients.

You can get the reinforced front mount through several of the SHO vendors, but the reinforcing bolt really doesn't come into play until the rubber to metal bond of the mount's insulator has already failed. The mount needs to be replaced at that point. The bolt does prevent the engine from rising enough to hit the hood or cause other collateral damage from big motions. The rear Ford mount already has the reinforcing bolt installed. I had a local dealer match SHO NUT's price on the rear mount.

I just had this priced out by 2 shops today. One (a local porshe shop that does lots of sho work) quoted 5hrs. the other(dealer) 5.5hrs. At local labor rates that's $315-350 for all 3.

I'd at least get the front and rear. Get it all done right the first time.
