The donor sho just so happened to have a pair of these :)

I've got the entire PIAA 940 dual system except for the switch. They're gonna fit nicely. Now if only I can figure out how to hook them up. I have the whole wiring harness but dont' have the switch. I'm hoping to use the factory fog light switch. The harness has some sort of white relay box. Anybody here have a similar system that could lend me a hand?

The relay box is just that, a relay. I think that after 89 ford put in relays for the fog lights, check the wattage of the bulbs, if it is higher than 85w I recommend that you install larger wire. If not, then you should just beable to replace your current fogs with them just by plugging them into the power source.

Hope it helps,

I've read on the internet that you can alternate between the fog lights and the concentrated white beams. I'm not sure if you can have them both on at once. From what I could tell from junkyard removal, this guy had it working with the factory foglight button, but I was also under the impression that something was missing in the cabin. These fogs have 3 wires instead of 2. 55watt fog and 55watt driving. Hooking both up to the factory relay probably isn't a good idea. PIAA is going to fax me installation instructions. :D

PIAA came through like a champ with the wiring instructions. It all looks pretty simple but it doesn't look like you can alternate between the 2 different lights. Doesn't bother me much. Got me some serious driving and fog lights naughty

The original switch for these lights had 2 different buttons on it, one for each of the different types of light. It looks somewhat similar to the stock switch, but it is divided in half vertically. You weren't able to run both lights at the same time.

after playing with the setup, I can verify that you are correct. It's also possible to run both at the same time by putting the two leads on the same switch. It's easier this way because I can use my original foglight button. Is this more than the system was designed for? Am I going to have problems?

I wouldn't run both at the same time. First they are 2 different types of beams, meant to be used in different ways. Also since PIAA didn't do it from the factory, I wouldn't do it now. If you want to still use the factory switch, you could install a toggle that chooses between the 2 different lights, but use the stock button to actually turn the lights on and off. I think running both at the same time could definitely over load the wiring after using them for a while.
