I'm actually posting this for a friend of mine that was trying to buy a set of rod bearings from them.

Most of the SESHO guys know Matt that was at the meet. he attempted to buy a set of rod bearings and oil pan gaskets.

Matt purchaced and payed through paypal. One week goes buy, no response, no email, no notification that the items were shipped from RCM. Matt contacted paypal and got a number for RCM. Matt attempted to call 6 times, left voice mails, a never got a response.

finally after THREE WEEKS with no response he disputed with Paypal and just recieved his refund back.

The fact that the shipping was delayed and the fact that apparently the std rod bearings are on back order are nto the issue. The fact that there was NO ATTEMPT AT ALL to communicate with the customer is just simply bad business practice. BEWARE WHEN PURCHASING FROM RCM AUTOMOTIVE.

You do realise you can buy these items locally right Chris? Told you RCM was hit or miss and he normally takes your money, goes right to the parts store, orders, and then ships when they come in. Cut out the middle man...

I purchased probably $1k or more from RCM from 2005 to 2008 and never really had issues but it seems recently they have been getting worse.

I was going to buy my next set of bearings from them because I like how you get the oil pan gasket and the pickup tube gasket all as a set for $75. My last set came in a reasonable amount of time. May try RA this time.

Oh and FWIW, std. size bearings are on temporary backorder! :oogle:

I hope they won't be for long.

Kirk said something about the Clevite rods being discontinued so I wouldn't doubt it.
I've got one set stashed away.

I've found one place in Texas that still had OEM rod bearings. They are just way to expensive for one set.

I always hear bad thinks about rcm. When I was having my turbo build done I got over 2K in parts from them and had no problem. In total I've spent 3kish there and never had an issue. I'm not saying that people are lieing jsut dont' get why some have all good experiences and some bad....

Not true, only a temporary shortage. This was discussed in a different thread very recently......

They meed to make more that's BS. I spoke with a guy at clevite and they said when they run out that's it until they have enough orders to do another run of them
