My '91 Helms says to **** the quill shaft, the fork shaft, the fork-to-bearing interface, and fill the bearing groove with Ford grease. Is this correct or has this been superceded? Seems I heard something about no ****..........

The only places lubricated are those that are not at the interface between the throwout bearing and the pressure plate and the throwout bearing and the quill tube. The TOB-PP interface is designed to be stationary and should not be lubricated. The TOB to quill tube is also not to be greased. The shift fork shaft and shift fork to TOB wear locations are supposed to be greased. The TOB should be sealed and adding grease to the bearing groove of the later designed TOBs would not provide any positive affect.
