First, I searched but am looking for more opinions.

Also, SHOtimes has a nice writeup on how to remove the Moonroof and replace some parts.

Here are my issues with this Moonroof. The Visor was removed so the rattlings not coming from there. I can also Visually see where the Rattle is coming from when I hit a Series of Bumps and watch the Moonroof itself start to shake up and down. Also, The Moonroof does not like to close all the way. When you go to close it stops at the little spoiler that pops up because the spoiler won't go down on the way so it runs in to it, Insteal of going over it like it should.

Would this be because it's in need of new Lifter arms? Are the issues connected? This is getting REAL annoying real quick so I'd like to get it taken care of ASAP.

If the glass shakes up and down in the track, then the arms may fix it.

If the track rivets have come loose, then they need to be re-done.

Also, iirc, there is some felt at the rear corners of the glass that helps keep things from rattling, and that tends to get worn away over the years. I fixed one from rattling by replacing the felt pieces with some felt from the hardware store.

Hope it's not the lifter arms Sam. As far as I know they are no longer available either from Ford or Webasto, the company that made our sunroof.

My previous 93 had the rattling problem, and it was the lifter arms. I remedied the problem for a while by putting some shrink tube on the lifter arm rollers. I had to do it twice in two years, but it's a quick operation.

Lets hope the Shrink Tube Fixes it. I'll email webasto if not.
