I happened to notice the Moog springs from SHO Source the other day, but I cannot find any mention of them anywhere - has anyone tried them? I think Eibachs will be too low for my needs (after looking at SuperHO's picture), but I'm hesitant to reuse the stock springs as the rear in patricular looks pretty saggy, so I'm looking for alternatives.

Thanks.

Unless the rear springs are broken, a possibility, you can jack the back end up by loosening the strut in the knuckle and pushing the strut up. You can get an 1.0"-1.5" raise out of it.

I guess my thinking was that a sagging spring would have a softer spring rate due to it's being worn out, but I guess this isn't necessarily the case. I inspected my rear springs the other day when I did my rear brakes, and visually I didn't see any breaks.

It's hard to see if they are broken as the break is usually at the top. It will clunk on you if they are.

I was in pretty much the same situation. I knew I had bad rear struts and I bought the 2002 SES Struts and strut mounts to replace them. When the shop took the strut/spring assembly out they found that the springs were broken at the top as well. I ended up going with the Moog springs in the rear. The car is sitting back up nice and level now. I will snap some pictures for you Monday and let you know how she handles. -Jeremy

Take the pinch bolt out, raise the strut in the knuckle, then tighten the pinch bolt.

moving the strut in the knuckle is a bad idea as far as I'm concerned. Fix what aint right and you won't have to worry about it again.

As for "sagging" springs...unless they are rusty, they aren't sagging...they're broke or the strut mount is damaged.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I guess your install problem was solved? Last I read your mechanic said the car wouldn't pass MD inspection because 02 struts were 2 inches shorter.

already had mine looked at and thankfully mine are not broken and theres no damage.... just sagging from age and lack of tension!

Yes, even though he didn't think it would work I told him to just do the install. To his surprise the struts, strut mounts and springs fit perfectly. Ride height is now level and the car feels great. Now I just have to take care of the rusted out brake lines to get it back on the road :)
