I would actually run Eibachs, IIRC, they are softer than Moogs. Plus the ride height is stock-ish. Moogs you will have to cut 1 coil or so to maintain stock height. I have moogs on my car, along with Tokicos, and the ride for the most part is harsh. However, the first part of the suspension travel is softer. (this is due to the design of the Moogs)

If he hasnt bought the KYB's yet, tell him to pick up some monroe sensatracs. These struts work well with moogs.

As far as the the Eibach statement, thats from what i have read/heard. (Eibach being softer than Moogs.)

I have that combo. I have the CC coils - I didn't touch the rears and I cut 1.5 off the front CC's. I have had this setup for about 30k. I like it. The rear does absolutely great, holds a significant amount of weight before it begins to lower, and under normal use it is nice and tight with no rear sagging. The front does well, however it can under some circumstances get a bit bouncy....overall it is a good ride. I am not disappointed.

Published spring rates prove it.

But keep in mind, both the Eibachs and the Moogs are progresive rate coils. This makes simple spring rate coparison pretty inacurate.

BTW, I STILl love my MOOG/monroe setup. Over 40k on it now:thumb:

Can the monroe's take the chopped moogs? How many coils (if any) did you cut?

I let my Moog coils settle for a year. You can wait way less though like a week lol. Afterwards my friend cut 1 coil off my front coils to achieve almost an even drop. Keep in mine that this is a GL auto (slo).

He was talking to me online about this earlier today. He was saying his brother doesn't mind if it is a harsh ride.

I only cut one coil off the front, and left the rears as is.

This places the ride height very near stock. The monroes are designed as a stock-replacement coil.

So I dont recommend cutting any more, when using the monroe's.

What im wondering, in terms of spring rates, i know the moogs have a 142-ish lb. spring rate. (initial) im not sure that of the Eibachs though. But are there any numbers(or a formula) on what the max. spring rate is? since they are both progressive, is there a formula, like XX.X (S/R)x XX''(sus. travel) =XX.Xlbs. per inch??
