got
172-176, O2's i know...
412- idle... i know.
then we got 632, i belive thats what it was... the TCS, transmission Control solieniod i think.... or something like that...
also, we got a code, can remeber the number, but it said, ignition coil 3, bad or grounded i think... i know it said Ignition coil 3 though...
some help with the last two would be appreciated. As i allready know the others... :thumb:
TIA.

Edit: car is a 93 ATX.

Josh,

The 632 DTC is for the overdrive switch (Transaxle Control Switch) on the shifter and is usually indicative of a bad or disconnected switch. Pull the center console and verify that the wires haven't been pulled off of the terminal base inside the console.

thats what it was... thanks adam...

now i remember!!! yeah her OD switch dosent work... i knew that TCS had something to do with the transmision... :nut:

with that disconnected would the tranny still shift into overdrive? or would that depend if it was off when the OD switch was disconnected? the light isnt on, so im gathering that the OD is still working. correct?

EDIT: hey Adam, for some reason your number the one under your Screen Name isnt working??? is it disconnected? :laugh_ti: :laugh_ti: :laugh_ti:

If the overdrive disable light ("O/D OFF") is not lit while in KOER, then yes - the EEC should still make use of overdrive. ;)

thats what i thought, thank you sir!

what about the Ignition coil 3?? its code 217....

would that point to the DIS? or the coil pack?

oh also, we got 2 and 6 on the engine balance test... which lead me to believe its the DIS or coil pack... arent 2 and 6 on the same ignition coil? which would be 3... ????

Correct. Coil #3 (as designated by Ford) fires cylinders 2 and 6. Coil #2 fires cylinders 3 and 4, and Coil #1 fires cylinders 1 and 5.

Don't bother with another coil.

Try the DIS instead. It's the most common reason.
