Just did a big highway trip and now my car is misfiring lower in the revs more so while the car is still cold. Plugs and wires are new, I did the top gaskets probably just over 10000 miles ago. Will I be safe to drive 300 miles this sunday when I need to report back to work? Also what the **** did I break?

That was my first thought too - oil or water in plugwells causing ignition shorting under certain conditions.

I have had problems with wires that weren't made right, so the boots didn't seal against the valve covers, and then the wells would get full of water and it would miss.

What I've done is take good cotton rags and stuff it down into the well, let it soak up whatever is in there, repeat until the water is nearly all gone. If you run the engine for a while, it will warm enough to melt the ice.

Be aware that if you don't clean it out quickly, the plug wires will deteriorate due to the shorting, and will be ruined.

I let it warm up and my front center plug well was an ocean of water, I stabbed some paper towel in there and cleaned the sucker out. It seems to be running fine now. No NEW COIL YAY!
